The below code can be inserted into a post or a page in order to allow a flash file to be inserted into your Family Biographies site. Keep the code exactly as it is except for the three areas in quotes “”.
The quoted text is for changing and that is where you put your own information. The first area is the file you wish to insert (IMPORTANT) You must have first uploaded the file to your web site. (Check the Upload files training to see how to do this and where your file is on your site so you may insert it’s location correctly.) The second area is how wide in pixels you want it to be and the third area is how tall you want it to be.
Once you have your information correct as you would like it to be just place this code any where in one of your posts or pages using the text editor and don’t forget the square brackets [ ] .
If you are successful, you will have a resulting flash file inserted…
Keep in mind that it is always better to use a complete location address then to use a short address. Here is a good practice to follow… Determine a location that you can remember and that you have access to on your site and always upload your files to that folder. Once you have your favorite location for your uploaded files, always use your full web address to access the files. For example instead of the short file name in the code above, replace it with a complete address, one that you could type in your browsers address window and still display the file. This practice will save headaches. so it would look like this http:mysite.familybiographies.com/uploads/09/filename.swf instead of filename.swf
